Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve cleaning resistance and life characteristic by composing a rubber packing for sealing the opening of a bottomed cylindrical case of specific amount of isobutyleneisoprene rubber (IIR) and ethylenepropylene ter- polymer (EPT). CONSTITUTION:A rubber packing for sealing the opening of an electrolytic capacitor is formed of 50-90% of IIR and the residue of polymer of EPT. The IIR and the EPT are blended so that the degree of dispersing flon solvent impregnated into the packing is similar to the EPT to remarkably reduce its chlorine concentration and to improve cleaning resistance as compared with the case of only the IIR. Further, since the dispersion of the electrolyte is less, stable characteristics for a long period are obtained. That is, since the solvent has better permeability as compared with the electrolyte (ethyleneglycol), it is dispersed, while the electrolyte having less permeability is stopped dispersing. In other words, only the flon solvent can be selectively penetrated by utilizing the difference of the permeability of the solvent and the electrolyte.
