Abstract

PURPOSE: To miniaturize liquid crystal display device by smoothing one or more synchronizing signals for driving the display device. CONSTITUTION: Synchronizing signals ϕ1, ϕ2 generated by a common driver 11 are pulse-compensated to signals P1 , P2 by COMS buffers 15, 16. A DC component is removed from the signal P1 by a capacitor 17 and a signal P3 clamped to the minus side by a diode 19 is obtained. A DC component is removed from the signal P2 by a capacitor 18 and a signal P4 furthermore clamped to the minus side up to the minus peak value of the signal P3 by a diode 20 is obtained. The signal P4 is applied as minus voltage through a diode 21 and converted into voltage P5 smoothed by a capacitor 22. When the power supply circuit is arranged near the liquid crystal display device, wiring can be removed, a power supply itself can also be compacted and the device can be miniaturized.
