Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve high speed drive performance by constructing a highest speed change valve with a coast valve arranged at one end, a valve body arranged at the other end and a compression coil spring arranged between the coast valve and the valve body and arranging so that detent pressure is fed between one end of the valve body and the other end of the coast valve. CONSTITUTION:Detent pressure for operating a highest speed change valve (3-4 speed change valve) 58 is fed between a coast valve 98 and a valve body 74 thereof to cancel throttle pressure fed to the highest speed change valve 58 upon kickdown, while simultaneously it is fed to the highest speed change valve 58 in order to stand against governor pressure. Consequently, speed change between 3 and 4 speed change stages is carried out irrespective of throttle pressure through confrontation between the governor pressure and the detent pressure for operating the highest speed change valve 58 when vehicle speed varies even in a region having high throttle opening, resulting in improvement of high speed driving performance and prevention of engine overrun.
