Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable color recording from binary to multivalue to be performed with one apparatus, by a method wherein both a multivalued data recording control part and a binary data recording control part are established, and a selection means in which the number of data inputs and the number of strobes of a thermal printing head are selected by switching those control parts. CONSTITUTION:Since a buffer 50 becomes significant concerning data input when a select signal is at a low level, an inputted first data (DATA 1) is shifted with a shift register circuit by clock input, and data is shifted to the shift register at the final stage hereinafter in the same way. In that case, since buffers 71, 72, 73 on a control substrate side become invelid, the output becomes open. Concerning the strobe input, since output of an inverter 54 is at a high level, inputting onto 2AND 55, 57, 59 side is selected. Four strobe signals of STB 1, STB 2, STB 3, STB 4 become significant to be of a binary color printing mode. When the select signal is at a high level, they become multivalued color printing mode.
