Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify a transformer and others by alternately driving two switching elements connected with one pole of a power source in 50% duty ratio and by alternately driving the other two switching elements with a pulse of variable width. CONSTITUTION:H-bridge inverter is composed of a first pair of series connection switching elements S1, S3 connected with a power source E, a second pair of series connection switching elements S2, S4 connected with the power source E in parallel with the first pair, commutation diodes D1-D4 juxtaposed with respective switching elements S1-S4 and switching drivers DR1-DR4. In this case, two upper side switching elements S1, S2 are operated always and alternately in response to 50% duty ratio (rectangular) driving pulse. Also, two lower side switching elements S3, S4 are driven alternately and controllably in response to pulse-width modulated variable width driving pulse. Thus, a driving transformer and its related circuit can be simplified.
