Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a stereoscopic image excellent in quality by forming stereoscopic image signals by two cameras, compressing the data quantity of these signals to a half without degrading the vertical resolution, recording them in a VTR, and converting them to signals capable of being converted to signals that can be displayed in stereoscope. CONSTITUTION:The double scanning cameras 101, 102 supplies double scanning signals to a three-dimensional encoding circuit 103 in accordance with synchronizing signals supplied from a two system simultaneous recording and reproducing device VTR 105. The circuit 103 converts the signals to digital signals, interlace- converts the double scanning signals to odd number field signals and even number field signals, and supplies them to a VTR 104. The VTR 104 divides frame signals from the cameras 101, 102 into ch1 and ch2, and records them simultaneously. A three dimensional decoding circuit 105 converts reproduced signals in two channels to analog double scanning signals in one frame, and supplies the result to a double scanning monitor 106. The three dimensional glass driver circuit 113 of the circuit 105 drives a three dimensional glass 107, so that images from the cameras 101, 102 are made incident separately on the right eye and the left eye of an observer.
