Abstract
PURPOSE:To dispense with the labor of soil sterilization and moisture- management, by grafting an ear to a rootstock, inserting the rootstock into a hollow tube fixed in vertical state and immersing the lower part of the rootstock in a culture liquid. CONSTITUTION:A planting plate 9 is horizontally attached to a hollow tube of a broad culture vessel 8 and a number of hollow tubes 10 are vertically thrust through and fixed to the planting plate 9. A culture liquid 6 containing a nutrient is poured into the culture vessel 8 until the liquid level 11 reaches a level higher than the lower end of the hollow tube 10 to enable the immersion of the lower part of the rootstock 1 into the culture liquid 6. When the grafted seedling grows to a state to emerge a root 7 from the lower part of the rootstock 1, the grafted seedling is pulled out of the hollow tube 10 and transplanted to soil.
