Abstract
PURPOSE:To set the deflection of a meter to 1/2 and 1/4 and to expand the scale of the meter by varying a current (voltage) which flows to the meter to 1/2 and 1/4 without varying the resistance value of the meter part. CONSTITUTION:The current (voltage) which flows to the meter is reduced to 1/2, 1/4, etc. so as to reduce the deflection of the meter to 1/2, 1/4, etc., in the entire range of the circuit tester (voltmeter or ammeter). When the voltage applied to ZM is reduced to 1/n, R1 and R2 determined by R1=ZM.(n-1) and R2=ZM+ZM/(n-1) are only employed and when the current is reduced, R1 and R2 determined by R1=ZM-ZM/n and R2=ZM/(n-1) are employed. Switching for expanding the scale may use a plug besides a switch.
