Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a raised sheet product having elegant long filaments without lowering the product characteristics, by keeping the temperature of a sheet above a specific level in the raising of a sheet composed of a synthetic fiber and a polymeric elastomer. CONSTITUTION:A sheet (e.g. woven, knit or nonwoven fabric) composed of a synthetic fiber (e.g. polyester or polyamide) and a polymeric elastomer (preferably having a softening point of 100-300 deg.C) is raised with a sand paper while keeping the temperature of the sheet at >=40 deg.C (e.g. at 80 deg.C). Fluffs can be easily generated and an elegant sheet having long raised filaments can be produced by this process. The polymeric elastomer is e.g. polyurethane and the synthetic fiber constituting the sheet is preferably composed of ultrafine fiber of <=0.5g.
