Abstract

PURPOSE:To surely obtain a prescribed shape by detecting the temp. near the molding hole of a die, maintaining the temp., and measuring the thickness between the long sides of a tape type optical fiber by an outside diameter measuring instrument, then controlling the temp. and viscosity. CONSTITUTION:A sheave 25 for arraying, a cross head 20, a UV projection device 21, the laser type outside diameter measuring instrument 22 and a take-up roll 24, etc., are provided to a titled producing apparatus. The head 20 is connected to a molten resin pressurizing tank 27 provided with a pressure regulator 28. Four pieces of the optical fibers 1 are then disposed in parallel and a UV curing resin in a molten state is coated thereon in the head 20. The coating layers are cured by the device 21 and the fibers are taken up on the roll 24. The thickness between the long sides is measured by the instrument 22 and is fed back to a gaseous nitrogen temp. by the regulator 28 and to the set temp. by a temp. controller 35, respectively. The pressure and viscosity of the molten resin are, therefore, maintained adequately and the prescribed sectional shape is surely obtd.
