Abstract

PURPOSE:To arrange a reservation mark onto a free place without adding a physical lack by recording a prescribed mark onto a card, reading it optically and executing a comparison-decision between it and an inserting direction or a reservation signal. CONSTITUTION:The reservation mark is recorded onto the heat sensitizing agent applied surface of the card, numeric value information is recorded onto a magnetism applied surface and these are made usable at the time of a reading. In a reader/writer, the recording of the mark and the numeric value is executed by a 7-heads-1-string-thermal head and the reading of the mark is executed by a reflection type photointerrupter. The thermal head and the photointerrupter are attached to one and the same holder and the driving of a read/write is executed by using the same driving system. Thus, the inserting direction and the reservation mark can be arranged onto the free place without adding physical lacks, the degree of the freedom of the design of the card and the security of the card itself can be enhanced, and concerning a device, a common device can be used and the aspect of cost is also made advantageous.
