Abstract

PURPOSE:To uniformize property of refuse in the whole of a pit, by a method wherein a refuse pit is monitored by means of an industrial television, picture is processed to detect color distribution, and refuse in the pit is moved so that the whole is brought into a same color distribution state. CONSTITUTION:A refuse pit 3 is monitored by means of an ITV5, color image processing is applied on a whole picture 6 of the whole of the refuse pit 3, and with regard to each component of RGB, an area classified by a section 7 is determined. When the determined area exceeds a specified ratio between section areas, it is judged that refuse having the same property is collected at that spot. A crane 4 is then moved to a spot where refuse in the same shape and having the same color is collected, grasps refuse at that spot, and the bucket of the crane 4 is gradually opened to scatter the refuse as the bucket is moved toward a spot where a color is below a specified ratio between section areas. This method uniformizes the quality of refuse in the refuse pit, reduces the fluctuation in the quality of refuse charged in an refuse incinerator, and performs stable combustion.
