Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent oil pressure in a hydraulic actuator from improperly rising by restricting a driving signal for driving a speed change control valve by a restricting means before change in the speed ratio of a continuously variable transmission is mechanically restricted. CONSTITUTION:An electronic control device 350 receives the signals of the rotation sensors 352, 354, 356 of an engine, an input shaft, an output shaft, a throttle valve opening sensor 358, etc., calculates an actual speed ratio or the target value of the rotating speed of an input shaft 30 from a predetermined relation, and carries out the on/off control of the solenoid valves 272, 290 of an oil pressure controlling circuit so as to make an actual value agree with the target value, to control the oil pressure fed into hydraulic actuators 70, 72. Here, before the speed ratio of a belt type continuously variable transmission 16 reaches the mechanical upper-limit or lower-limit value, the determined target value is limited to the upper-limit value or the lower-limit value in the range of its change. Thereby, oil pressure in hydraulic actuators can be prevented from rising more than necessary, improving the durability of a power transmission belt while reducing the power loss of an oil pump.
