Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce a required time until a paper-refeeding is started to reduce a continuous recording time, by a method wherein, a first stopper is made as high as it can stop a large number of sheets of paper, a second stopper is made as high as it can stop a sheet of paper, and drive means for the first and second stoppers are actuated independently of each other. CONSTITUTION:A first stopper 74A is disposed rotatably about a fulcrum of a journal 110. A stopper solenoid 111 is connected to a tension spring 112. The first stopper 74A is made as high as it can stop papers 28 by the maximum stack number of a jogger unit 72. A second stopper 74B is disposed rotatably about a fulcrum of a journal 120. A stopper solenoid 121 is connected to a tension spring 122. The second stopper 74B is made as high as it can stop one sheet of the paper 28 on the jogger unit 72. The stopper solenoid 111 and the stopper solenoid 121 are turned ON/OFF independently of each other. In a paper-refeeding after a large number of sheets of paper have been stacked, the first stopper is actuated; in a paper-refeeding by successively stacking the papers one by one, the second stopper is actuated.
