Abstract

PURPOSE:To exactly detect phosphorescence even if a turn-on or turn-off characteristic of an exciting light radiating means is not satisfactory, by separating an installing position of a fluorescence detecting means and a phosphorescence detecting means, and eliminating the influence exerted on the phosphorescence detecting means from the exciting light radiating means. CONSTITUTION:A phosphorescence detecting sensor 11 is placed in a distance where it is not induced to a light beam emitted by a fluorescent material excited by an ultraviolet irradiation from an ultraviolet lamp 3 which is not turned off completely, therefore, a light beam based on the fluorescent material exerts no influence on the phosphorescence detecting sensor 11. Accordingly, the light beam which is led by the phosphorescence detecting sensor 11 is limited to that which is emitted from a phosphorescent excited by turn-on of the ultraviolet lamp 3. The light beam which is emitted, based on this phosphorescent passes through a color filter 10 and led to the phosphorescence detecting sensor 11. The phosphorescence detecting sensor 11 converts this light beam to an electric signal and outputs it. This outputted photoelectric converting signal is brought to sampling by a phosphorescence detecting pulse, and whether the phosphorescent has been given to a detection object 2 or not is detected.
