Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable accurate positional adjustment of a tube bundle by a method wherein an elastic device for holding a tube is made up of one set of U-shaped brackets, a link part is provided in common to two branch parts and respective free ends of the branch parts are welded on outward hoops while the common link part on inward hoops. CONSTITUTION: Some tubes 4 entering rows at the outward part of a spacer grid are mounted at the inward part of the grid and at the center part of a tube plate and the outward part of the spacer grid is assembled beforehand. Hoops 2a-2c are assembled beforehand by welding a common part 8c of brackets 8. The brackets thus finished are arranged before the insertion thereof into corresponding rows of tubes. When the row involved is filled to the capacity, the subsequent hoop is arranged by welding protrusions 9a and 9b of the brackets of the preceding hoop. The positional errors between the tubes are corrected by picking each bracket 8 before the welding to be rearranged correctly. In this manner, the brackets 8 can be arranged very accurately and easily.
