Abstract

PURPOSE: To check the deterioration of a reagent and to surely detect a specimen by providing a 1st carrier on which a reactive material is deposited and a 2nd carrier on which the material of the same kind as the material of the specimen is deposited and bringing a coloring agent which detects the presence of the specimen into contact therewith.
CONSTITUTION: The 1st carrier on which the material (for example, anti-human HCG antibody) 24 reacting with the specimen component in a sample is deposited is provided on a carrier 20 so as to exist locally to part of a porous cellulose film 22 therein and the 2nd carrier on which the material (for example, human HCG) 23 of the same kind as the specimen component in the sample is deposited is provided to the other part. The urine sample and alkali phosphatase labeled anti-human HCG antibody are added thereto to effect an enzyme reaction. The coloring agent which colors by reacting with the specimen component is thereafter added thereto and the specimen component HCG in the urine sample is detected from the presence or absence of the coloration. The human HCG 23 of the 2nd carrier colors at this time regardless of the presence or absence of the HCG in the sample. The deterioration of the reagent is, therefore, checked by the non-coloration of the 2nd carrier and the specimen component is detected with high reliability.
