Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable supply of a superconductor having a higher critical temperature than that of a superconductor having a composition of YBa2Cu2O7-delta and crystal structure of rhombic system, by using Y, Ba, Cu and O as elements of main components and making crystal structure mainly comprising cubic system. CONSTITUTION:The semiconductor contains Y, Ba, Cu and O as elements of main components and has crystal structure mainly comprising cubic system. <=20atom.% of one or more of the elements of main components can be replaceable with other elements and <=50vol.% substance having amorphous crystal structure may exist. In order to obtain the superconductor, Y is blended with Ba and Cu in given molar ratio, respectively, melted and quenched at a rate not to make the melt precipitate crystal and an amorphous substance is obtained. The amorphous substance is heat-treated in an oxygen-containing atmosphere at <=600 deg.C to precipitate crystal of cubic system.
