Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a coated plastic container having not only an excellent gas barrier property under a high humidity condition but also the excellent close adhesiveness and appearance characteristic of coating under a water immersion state, by forming a coating layer of a vinylidene chloride copolymer from a bottom layer and a composite layer both of which satisfy specific conditions. CONSTITUTION:The coating layer of a vinylidene chloride copolymer is composed of a composite coating layer which is formed from a bottom coat layer formed from a coating composition of vinylidene chloride copolymer latex and a hydroxyl group- containing water-soluble polymer 0.01-2.0wt.% of the solid of said latex and an upper coating layer formed from the vinylidene chloride copolymer latex alone so as to satisfy formula 0.05>=DS/DI>=0 (wherein DS is the optical absorption density of the surface of the composite coating layer in the vicinity of a wavelength of 3,350cm<-1> calculated by reflection type infrared spectroscopic analysis and DI is optical absorption density calculated with respect to the interface of the composite coating layer on the main body side in the same way) and has such a fine structure that the hydroxyl group-containing water-soluble polymer is preferentially distributed on an interface side and is closely bonded to the main body so as to obtain peel strength of 50g/15mm width or more.
