Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a both-surface copy without turning over transfer paper by transferring the 1st image on an image carrier to a belt-like transfer body, then forming a 2nd image, feeding paper where the belt makes one turn and returns, and transferring one surface from the transfer body and the other surface from the image carrier. CONSTITUTION:The 1st image of toner is formed on the image carrier 100 and transferred to the transfer body 2. Then the 2nd image is formed on the image carrier 100 with toner. The transfer conveyor belt 2 is driven as shown by an arrow and the transfer paper S is fed right before the belt makes one turn and returns to the position opposite the image carrier. While the transfer paper is conveyed superposed on the transfer image, the 2nd image of the image carrier is transferred to the other surface. A transfer electrostatic charger 23 transfers the 1st image on the transfer body to the transfer paper S. An inverting device for the transfer paper is not necessary, there is no danger of jamming, and a both-surface copy is easily obtained at low cost.
