Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of the brightness of a lamp and to minimize the exfoliation of the reflecting layer by adding simultaneously antimony oxide and calcium pyrophosphate to titanium oxide in the reflecting layer. CONSTITUTION:In a fluorescent lamp provided with a reflecting layer 3 and a phosphor layer 4, the reflecting layer 3 is made of a material of titanium oxide added with antimony oxide and calcium pyrophosphate. By the addition of antimony oxide the access of sodium precipitated from soda lime glass used for the fluorescent lamp to the phosphor layer can be prevented, thus its injurious effect to generate the deterioration of the brightness can be avoided. As the added amount of antimony oxide is increased the adhesive strength of the reflecting layer to the protective layer 2 is decreased, but by the addition of calcium pyrophosphate the allowable range of the amount of the added antimony oxide can be expanded to improve the workability.
