Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an image excellent in chemical resistance and contrive higher reliability, by providing a protective layer comprising at least one compound selected from among acrylamide and derivatives thereof together with a high mol.wt. compound as main constituents, on a thermal color forming layer. CONSTITUTION:A thermal color forming layer comprising a leuco dye and a color developer as main constituents is provided on a base, and a protective layer comprising acrylamide or a derivative thereof and a high mol.wt. compound as main constituents is provided thereon. With the protective layer provided, decoloration of images due to oils or fats, plasticizers or the like is prevented, and reliability is markedly enhanced. At least one compound selected from among acrylamide and derivatives thereof, e.g., N,N'-methylene- bisacrylamide, is incorporated in the protective layer. The protective layer also comprises the high mol.wt. compound, e.g., a water-soluble high mol.wt. compound, such as polyvinyl alchohol, or an emulsion of a high mol.wt. compound.
