Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide an adhesive which is excellent in the bonding strength, thermal resistance, and insulating properties and less susceptible to deterioration of magnetic characteristics during bonding of a thin magnetic metal sheet, and which comprises a polyborosiloxane, an insulating inorg. filler, and an org. solvent. CONSTITUTION:A heat-resistant adhesive comprising 100pts.wt. polyborosiloxane, 5-100pts.wt. insulating inorg. filler, and an org. solvent (e.g., siloxane). It is pref. that the polyborosiloxane exhibit an IR absorbance ratio D1350 (B-O)/D1090 (Si-O) of 0.1-0.4. The insulating inorg. filler is pref. one selected from among titanium oxide, silicon oxide, magnesium oxide, zirconium silicate, mica, and alumina. The heat-resistant adhesive is suitable for use in bonding of a thin magnetic metal sheet in the production of a magnetic core.
