Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a resin composition excellent in compatibility and can give a transparent molding improved in nonuniformity during molding, by mixing specified aromatic polycarbonate polymers of different molecular structures together. CONSTITUTION:A resin composition of excellent compatibility, comprising 1-99wt.% aromatic polycarbonate polymer (A) of formula I, obtained by bonding 2,2-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)propane through carbonate bonds and 99-1wt.% aromatic polycarbonate polymer (B) of formula II, obtained by bonding 1,1'-bis(4- hydroxyphenyl)-p-diisopropylbenzene through carbonate bonds. By mixing polymers A and B, it is possible to obtain a resin composition which is excellent in compatibility, and can give a melt-molded product having a single glass transition temperature, freed of nonuniformity of molecular orientation and being transparent. Therefore, it is useful in the field of molding requiring transparency, such as engineering plastic, building materials, automobile parts, optical materials, optical discs, electrical parts, etc.
