Abstract

PURPOSE:To achieve a higher mobility and portability with a smaller size and a lighter weight of a radar repeater, by using a frequency sweeping electronic scan antenna as such. CONSTITUTION:A radar set at a point A performs a circumferential beam scanning. When a beam points to directions of points B, C, D and E, a radar at the point A irradiates a radar repeater with a beam for a fixed period. In operation, a receiving antenna 1 for relay of the radar repeater is irradiated with the beam, hence, a transmission signal of a base station radar is amplified with a receiver 2 for relay and further with a power amplifier 3 to be radiated into the air through a radar antenna 5 via a transmission-reception switch 4. The radio wave thus radiated is made to scan a shaded portion thereof and a return signal being reflected from a target is received with the radar antenna 5 to be returned to the base station radar via the transmission-reception switch 4 and then via a radar receiver 6, a transmitter 7 for relay and a transmitting antenna 8 for relay.
