Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the aimed compound in high yield and advantageously in hydroformylating a specific vinyl compound containing a direct functional group at the vinyl group in the presence of a rhodium catalyst, adding a tris(substituted aryl) phosphite to the reaction system. CONSTITUTION:A compound shown by the formula (X is H or CH3; A is OCOCH3, COOCH3 or CN) is reacted with a mixed gas of H2 and CO in the presence of a compound shown by the formula P(OR)3 (R is substituted aryl), especially tris(2,4-di-t-butylphenyl) phosphite having 2,080-2,090cm<-1> electronic parameter (upsilon-values) and 135-190 deg. steric parameter (theta-values) to give a hydroformylated product useful as a food additive or a raw material for polymers. This method is industrially advantageous since the reaction can be carried out under relatively low pressure, high reaction rate and high selectivity are obtained by using a rhodium catalyst even with low concentration and the catalyst can be circulated and used.
