Abstract
PURPOSE:To exactly give bearings a fixed preload with responsibility kept in an excellent state by converting the rotating force of a motor into displacement in an axial direction through fixed structure, and making one of the bearings reciprocate in its axial direction according to the above-mentioned displacement. CONSTITUTION:The rotating force of a motor 18 is converted into displacement in its axial direction by a rotary moving body 16 which engages with a trapezoid female thread part 14 provided on the side of an inner periphery of a housing 5, and has angular ball bearings 8, 9 inserted in its inside and its periphery inserted in the housing 5, and is formed with a male thread part 16a engaging with the female thread part 14 and a gear part 16b, and the ball bearings 8, 9 reciprocate in the axial direction of a spindle 2 according to the above-mentioned displacement. Thus the outer rings of the angular ball bearings 8, 9 fixed to the rotary moving body 16 are slightly moved in their axial direction for the proper adjustment of a preload for the spindle 2. In addition to that, since the rotating force of the motor 18 is directly converted into the displacement in the axial direction through the housing 5 and the thread part formed on the rotary moving body 16, this supporting device is especially excellent in responsibility in comparison with a usual device utilizing fluid action.
