Abstract

PURPOSE:To manufacture distortionless brush assembly substrate in a high yield without lowering welding strength by previously forming a tongue section of substrate to be welded in the shape of spring section so that a pressing force applied in the next process, after welding of a lead wire, is applied only to a mount section of spring seat furthest from the welding section. CONSTITUTION:The tongue sections 3 having curvature are extended in the equal interval toward the side from a long length suspending belt section 2, which is provided with pilot holes 5 used for positioning during the welding and pressing. The tongue section is previously designed so that it forms greater part of the spring section which becomes the spring seat of brush assembly and the end part 4 thereof is provided with a projection 6 to weld a lead wire 12 in such a way as to orthogonally cross therewith. The section 10 enclosed by the dotted lines 8, 9 of the suspending belt section constitutes the mount section of spring seat and the dotted lines 8, 9 indicate the line of pressing in the next process. Since cutting is not made by pressing work at the area near the welded lead wire 12 as described above, a secondary force is not applied to the welded area and welding strength is not lowered.
