Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a device with high linear guidance accuracy, by constituting the device of such linear actuator mechanism which supports a head, is coupled with a head load suspension extending in the direction of the tangent line of a disk at the opposite side of the head, and moves the head linearly in a radius direction for the disk, and sets the moving direction so as to intersect orthogonally with the longitudinal direction of the device. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic head 2 is moved in the radius direction of a magnetic disk 1. The head 2 is supported by the load suspension 8, and is constituted in a direction along the direction of the tangent line of a recording track. The one end of the suspension 8 on the opposite side is fixed at the movable part 10 of the linear actuator 9, and when a carriage 10 is moved linearly, the head 2 is moved linearly on the recording plane of the disk 1 in the radius direction. Since a coil 11 mounted on the carriage 10 is placed in a magnetic circuit 12, a linear driving force is supplied in both directions by energizing the coil 11 in a forward and backward directions by its electromagnetic function, and the head 2 can be positioned at a prescribed recording track on the disk 1.
