Abstract

PURPOSE:To efficiently synthesize a metabolite and a substance related to same when the metabolite is artificially synthesized in vitro, by using an electrically conductive ceramic material. CONSTITUTION:For example, when adenosine-5'-triphosphate (ATP) is synthesized, 0.25g adenosine-5'-diphosphate (ADP) and 0.184g acetyl phosphate are used. They are dissolved in about 60ml 8wt.% aq. KCl soln., 25ml of the resulting soln. is used as used as anolyte and the remaining ADP soln. is used to accurately determine the initial concn. of ADP by liq. chromatography. A titanium oxycarbonitride ceramic plate and a high purity iron wire are used as positive and negative electrodes, respectively, 50ml 0.1N hydrochloric acid is used as catholyte and the catholyte is allowed to electrically communicate with the anolyte through a salt bridge filled with 16wt.% aq. KCl soln. 1.0V voltage is impressed between the positive and negative electrodes and a reaction is carried out for a prescribed time.
