Abstract
PURPOSE:To make it possible to ignite easily and positively a flame combustion cylinder even when a sufficient combustion space cannot be secured in the flame combustion cylinder by opening the tip end of the flame combustion cylinder immediately before the ignition and discharging a part of a gas is directly to the external part without passing through a combustion catalyst by means of a gas discharge quantity adjusting mechanism interlocking with an ignition button. CONSTITUTION:A mixed gas generating member 5 for mixing air in a fuel gas from a switching valve 3 is incorporated in the tip end of a grip 4 of the thermal working device for carrying out soldering and the like. A plurality of gas discharge ports 21 are formed on the peripheral wall surface at the tip end of a flame combustion cylinder 1, and are opened or closed by means of a cylindrical shutter 22. The tip end of a connecting member 40 is connected to the shutter 22 which is interlocked with an ignition button 37. When the ignition button 37 is manipulated to carry out an ignition operation external air intake port 8 is fully closed and then four external air intake ports 8 are closed by 1/3-1/4 thereby to set the opening area to 67-75% at the full-open time. Thus, a mixed gas having a high mixing ratio and being easily ignitable is obtained. In addition, when a discharge is carried out at the tip end side of a baffle plate 16, a positive ignition is performed because this position is a position where the flow speed of the mixed gas is further reduced.
