Abstract

PURPOSE:To cut out a complex shape by simple operation by setting up a Z buffer face as a sphere, a conical surface, etc., in addition to a plane. CONSTITUTION:A three-dimensional memory 1 stores a tomographic image collected by an X-ray CT device or the like as three-dimensional voxel data. An area extracting device 3 extracts an objective internal organ from the memory 1 and writes the extracted data in a 2nd three-dimensional memory 4 as binarizing data. The binarizing data are detected as a distance from a projected face up to the collision with an object in the vertical direction by a distance detector 5 and written in a two-dimensional memory 6. After finding out these distances on the whole surfaces of the Z buffer, shadowing processing is executed by a surface image device 7 and the shadowed image is displayed on a display device 8. In case of executing cutting simulation, the range of a cutting face on the surface and the shape of a drill are set up by a drill shape setting device 10. The set information is applied to the detector 5, and while approaching the projection surface to the object, the Z buffer is formed to form a surface image.
