Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a food container capable of being cooked in an microwave oven as it is, by constituting said container of an injection molded product composed of a polybutylene terephthalate resin showing a melt index of a specific value and setting one half or more the inner surface area thereof to a specific thickness. CONSTITUTION:Polybutylene terephthalate is polyester obtained by condensing 1,4-butane diol and terephthalic acid or lower alkyl ester thereof and the melt index measured at 235 deg.C under a condition of load of 2,160g due to ASTM D-1238 is set to 30-150 to obtain a thin wall molded product having sufficient strength. Further, the thickness of a container is related to the size thereof but set to 0.2-1.0mm in the part corresponding to 50% or more of the inner surface area of the container to make it possible to hold a sufficient self-reliance property and a shape at practical temp. When the container is relatively large, a thick wall part such as a rib is appropriately provided to the container within the prescribed range of the above-mentioned thickness to reinforce the container and the container can be planned so as to have a structure with due account on the prevention of deformation and the collapse of a shape, damage strength at a falling time or the like.
