Abstract

PURPOSE:To print characters and an image with high resolution at a high speed by employing as a support a multilayer structure sheet made of films of biaxial orientation containing as main ingredient polyolefine resin including inorganic pigment, and providing a coating layer which absorbs hydrophobic ink on the support face and fixes it. CONSTITUTION:A supporting film is made of polyolefin resin, such as made of polyethylene, polypropylene, etc. Inorganic fine powder is mixed in this thermoplastic resin to form a film. and the film is biaxially oriented. The powder employs calcium carbonate having approx. 20mum of mean particle size for a base layer and a sheet-like layer, and calcium carbonate, titanium oxide, etc., for a surface layer. A coating layer which absorbs and fixes hydrophobic ink is provided onto the support to further improve printability. Thus, the absorbing velocity and capacity of the oily ink adhered on a recording sheet surface are increased, ink coloring property is high and a sharp image can be obtained.
