Abstract

PURPOSE: To not to give a sense of unease and displeasure as to when processing is finished to user by providing an arithmetic section and a display section to the machine so as to inform the user of the elapsed processing time in a way of decremental display continuously. CONSTITUTION: When a cash receiving payment processing is started, a machine control section 14 makes communication with a center computer 15 via a MODEM 16. From this point of time, a screen display section 19 starts display indicating the elapsed time. Since the end of communication with the center computer 15 depends on the number of processed items or the like the control section 14 always sends a signal to the center computer 15 to grasp the processing state of the center computer 15 and allows an arithmetic section 20 to calculate the indication decrement speed on every occasion so as to adjust the decremental indication speed minutely. When the communication is finished and paper money carrying is started, the arithmetic section 20 obtains the time till the carrying is finished depending on the amount of paper money and calculates the decremental indication speed of the display section 19 to change continuously the indication by the display section 19 accordingly. The print time on a bankbook or the like is not much depending on the monetary amount, the decremental indication speed is made constant to decrement the indication continuously. After the guidance display, paper money is discharged.
