Abstract

PURPOSE:To forecast fatigue life handily and in a short time, by computing data of a displacement, phase difference, surface temperature or the like of a test piece when a repeated load is applied thereon according to a specified formula. CONSTITUTION:A fatigue tester body 1 applies a repeated test load P on a resin material test piece to determine a displacement DELTAl and a phase difference deltathereof. An ambient temperature sensor 21 and a surface temperature sensor 22 determine surface temperatures thetaS and thetaO of the test piece. A computing means 30 computes a stress sigma and a distortion epsilon based on said test load P and displacement DELTAl and a fatigue life tr is computed automatically by the formula I based on the data and said phase difference delta, surface temperature thetaS, ambient temperature thetaO and a repetition frequency (f) of the test load P. Thus, the fatigue life can be forecast handily and in a short time.
