Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the stiffness of a driving system by arranging the governing mechanism of an unit injector on the upper side of a push rod for driving the unit injector and the like so as to shorten the push rod.
CONSTITUTION: A push rod 20a and the like are arranged on one side of an engine main body 2, which transfer the power of a cam shaft 24 attached to the cylinder block side 1 to an unit injector 8 and the like attached to the cylinder head side 6. And a governing link mechanism 29 for operating the fuel control member 35 of the unit injector 8 is arranged on the opposite side of the push rod 20a across the unit injector 8. In this case, a control shaft 30 and a control lever 31 which comprise the governing mechanism 29, are housed in a housing chamber 32. In addition, a lever member 36 connected to a fuel connecting rack is arranged in a rocker-arm chamber 34 communicated to the housing member 32.
