Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a titanium alkoxide derivative or a titanoxane derivative excellent in surface activity and an ability of inhibiting corrosion of a metallic surface and useful as a surface treating agent for metals etc., by reacting a specified polyperfluroalkylene ether derivative with a tetraalkoxytitanium or its derivative. CONSTITUTION:A titanium alkoxide derivative or a titanoxane derivative which is a product formed by its hydrolysis and condensation, as an effective compo nent of a surface treating agent, is prepared by reacting a poleperfluoroalkylene ether derivative having a polyperfluoroalkylene ether of a MW of 200-5000 as a polymer chain and either carboxyl or hydroxymethyl groups on its terminals with a tetraalkoxytitanium or its derivative.
