Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the affinity of fibers for a cement slurry and to improve the mechanical properties of a cement product by sticking a prescribed amt. of an alkali metallic salt of n-alkyl phosphate having a prescribed number of carbon atoms to the fibers. CONSTITUTION:An alkali metallic salt of 8-18C n-alkyl phosphate is stock to polyolefin-based fibers by 0.05-3wt.% basing on the amt. of the fibers to produce polyolefin-based fibers for reinforcing a cement product. The alkali metallic salt is of K or Na. Though the polyolefin-based fibers are highly hydrophobic, the produced reinforcing fibers are well miscible with a cement slurry and improve the mechanical properties of a cement product.
