露光して静電潜像を形成し、この静電潜像を現像
装置により現像して顕像を得た後、該潜像担持体
上に得られた顕像を給紙装置から供給される記録
用紙上に転写装置により転写し、さらにこの転写
像を定着装置により記録紙上に定着せしめるよう
にした複写機において、 上記露光光学系を有する光学ユニツトと、前記
潜像担持体および現像装置を備える複写ユニツト
と、前記給紙装置および転写装置を備える給紙・
転写ユニツトと、前記定着装置を備える定着ユニ
ツトとを、それぞれ別個独立に配設してなり、上
記各ユニツトは、用紙の取り扱い動作における左
側および右側の選択もしくは原稿載置動作におけ
る奥側および手前側の選択を可能とするように設
