Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the performance of a prime mover by providing an air cooler in a duct communicating a cooling air outlet of a generator with a suction side of the prime mover, and adjusting temperature of the air cooler according to a generator installing room temperature and a generator load factor. CONSTITUTION:A cooling air outlet 6 of an air-cooled generator 2 is communicated with a suction side of a prime mover 1 through a duct 7, and an air cooler 8 is provided in the duct 7. A reference room temperature in a generator installing room and a reference output of the generator 2 are set in a control device 12. The control device 12 inputs a control command 14 to control the operation of cooling water valves 10 and 11 so that the generator installing room temperature and the generator output may become the respective set values. Accordingly, a suction air temperature of the prime mover may be adjusted to thereby improve the performance of the prime mover.
