Abstract

PURPOSE:To speed up and facilitate the exchange operation of filter elements as well as to decrease operator's exposure and to eliminate the pollution of ambient environment by attaching and detaching the filter elements loaded into a casing remotely from the outside by a filter press contact device. CONSTITUTION:The plural filter elements 5 which clean up the gas to be treated passed through the elements are fixed to a filter mounting plate 2 in the cylindrical casing 1. An attaching/detaching port 9 which is formed freely openably and closably to load and unload the elements 5 into and out of the casing 1 is provided on the casing. The filter press contact device 8 which fixes the elements 5 in pressurized contact with the prescribed positions in the casing 1 is first driven to release the fixing of the elements 5 when the cleaning performance of the elements 5 is degraded by clogging, etc., after the operation for a prescribed period. The used elements 5 are then unloaded from the port 9 by a filter unloader 10 and in turn the fresh elements 5 are inserted through the port 9 into the casing 1. The inserted elements 5 are guided by guide rails 6 and are fed to the prescribed position and are fixed in pressurized contact with the prescribed position by the press contact device 8.
