Abstract
PURPOSE: To easily and safely collect and analyze a liquid sample in one step by separating a collected liquid sample into two different components and indicating the concentration of an interested component to be inspected in one component. CONSTITUTION: A sampling device 12 contains a collecting chamber 30 and a filtrate chamber 32 connected to each other through a flow passage for fluid. A separating element 34 is inserted between the chambers 30 and 32 so that no fluid can flow to the chamber 32 from the chamber 30 without passing through the element 34. At the time of using the device 12 for separating a blood sample, such an element 34 that can separate blood cells from blood plasma or the liquid part of blood from the solid containing part of the blood is used. Both the chambers 30 and 32 are contained in the part of the device 12 called a separating section 36. The device 12 also contains a reaction section 56. The section 56 is connected to the bottom 60 of the separating section 36 and is moved relatively to the section 36. The reaction section 56 has first and second reaction chambers 62 and 64 and the chamber 62 contains a reaction agent for analyzing an interested component to be inspected. The chamber 64 contains the contrast.
