Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a liposome water dispersion showing liposome stability for a long period, by freeze-drying or spray-drying a liposome water dispersion containing a saccharide and having a specific ionic concentration.
CONSTITUTION: 1pt.wt. lipid is blended with 0W1pt.wt. sterol as a membrane stabilizer and 0W0.2pt.wt. charged substance to give a liposome membrane component substance, which is dissolved in a proper solvent such as chloroform, the solvent is distilled away under reduced pressure to form a lipid film, which is suspended in water. 1pt.wt. water dispersion is incorporated with 0.001W0.3pt.wt., preferably 0.01W0.15pt.wt. saccharide (e.g. lactose or mannitol), adjusted to pH 6.0W8.0 by using a monovalent base or acid in an amount to give ≤20mM ionic concentration of finally obtained water dispersion. The water dispersion is freeze-dried or spray-dried to give a stable liposome preparation.
