Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase the displacement quantity of a printing element by a simple structure, by providing an electrostriction element or piezoelectric element brought into contact with the pressure receiving surface at the other end of a lever arm in a separable manner. CONSTITUTION:When voltage is applied to a piezoelectric element 5 to stretch the same, the pressure receiving surface 3 of a lever arm 2 is pushed up and the lever arm 2 rotates in a counterclockwise direction around the vicinity of the intermediate part of a leaf spring 4. When the piezoelectric element 5 is fully stretched, the displacement quantity of a printing element 1 becomes the product of that of the piezoelectric element and a leverage (b/a) but the lever arm 2 further continuously rotates in the counterclockwise direction without stopping herein and the pressure receiving surface 3 is separated from the piezoelectric element 5. The displacement quantity of the printing element at this time usually is 2-3 times that of the printing element 1 when the piezoelectric element 5 is fully stretched. Therefore, by setting the leverage (b/a) to 10-20, the desired displacement quantity of 300-400mum of the printing element 1 is easily obtained. By this simple structure, the displacement quantity of the printing element can be increased.
