Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a tapered pipe, the wall thickness of which is changed continuously, or its original body by a method wherein the running speed of a carriage is changed in response to the diameter of a winding during the manufacture of a molded material by filament winding method. CONSTITUTION:A carriage 2 is run at a speed, which is different in response to the diameter of a mandrel or the wound-up diameter. Thus, thin wall thickness is wound-up by making the running speed of the carriage 2 higher at the portion, the pipe diameter at which is large, while thick wall thickness is wound-up by making the running speed of the carriage 2 lower at the portion, the pipe diameter at which is small. The above-mentioned method is done by separating prime movers 3 to drive the mandrel 1 and the carriage 2 from each other so as to rotate the mandrel 1 at uniform speed and run the carriage 2 by controlling the motor. The width of strands is changed by changing the interval between two pins of a strand guide 7 or the width of a pectinate guide in response to the diameter of the mandrel or the running speed of the carriage. On the basis of the read diameter of the mandrel, commands are issued from a program controller to the speed uniformizing device of the motor to drive the mandrel, the second motor to drive the carriage and the controlling mechanism of the width of the strand guide so as to control the whole assembly.
