Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the mixing of defectives by supplying compressed air which detects the failure state of a valve mechanism from an air supply hole installed within a punch of a caulking mold. CONSTITUTION:A punch 3 is lowered to compress the upper surface of a terminal 5. By the compression pressure against the terminal 5, a terminal flange 8 is bent along a die 2 so as to wrap a saucer 7, and a caulking process is finished. Then, compressed air is supplied from an air supply hole 9 installed within the punch 3 and sealed, and no pressure drop within a given time is confirmed with a pressure sensor 10 to detect no rubber valve 6 or assembly failure. In addition, a hollow hole 11 in a push-up pin 1 is sealed with a sealing plate 12, and compressed air having pressure higher than that applied to the pressure sensor 10 is supplied and a specified pressure value is detected with a pressure sensor 13 for vent pressure to inspect a safety valve mechanism. Defective factors are thereby removed.
