Abstract

PURPOSE: To allow a clear and proper stethoscopic examination by converting the acoustic wave of a vibration detected with a chest piece to an electrical audio signal and then amplifying the audio signal for introduction to headphones or a speaker. CONSTITUTION: A housing 10 is manually held and a chest piece is attached to a patient's lesion for a stethoscopic examination. The acoustic wave of a vibration detected with the chest piece is converted to an electrical audio signal and, then, amplified with an amplifier on a printed circuit board 14. The electrical audio signal so amplified is, then, fed to headphones 50 or a speaker 52 via a headphone jack 19 and as well fed to a recorder 60 via a recording jack 18. Also, an oscilloscope 90 or an oscillograph 100 may additionally be coranected via a voice control device 80.
