Abstract
PURPOSE:To extend a display device without requring special operation representing mounting/unmounting of the display device by discriminating it that the display device is not mounted when the display device does not reach an input enable state of the write data till a timer means detects the predetermined elapsed time. CONSTITUTION:A timer means 200 counts the predetermined elapsed time and an initial setting means 300, in applying initial setting to a terminal equipment 100, checks the input enable of the write data to a display device 6 and starts the timer means 200, and when the display device 6 does not reach the input enable of the write data till the timer means 200 detects the predetermined elapsed time, the display device 6 is discriminated to be unmounted. Thus, when the display device is mounted and the write data is enabled for input, since the initial setting means discriminates automatically that the display device is mounted, it is not required to apply the operation such as insertion change of a short-circuit pin and the possibility of disuse of the function due to the forgotten operation representing the mount of the display device even with the extension of the display device is precluded.
