Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the occurrence of error at the time of storing commodities and to reduce the load on a worker executing storing work by providing an automatic transaction device with an automatic transport means, an identification means, a control means, and a temporary storage rack. CONSTITUTION: This automatic transport mechanism 3 is constituted of a vertical guide rail 31 , a horizontal guide shaft 32 , a transport head 33 having a commodity engaging pawl 34 , and a motor 35 to store/discharge commodities in/from many storage racks 2. A code reading mechanism 4 for reading out a mechanically readable commodity code such as a bar code stuck to a commodity discharged or received from a commodity discharge port 7 and a controller 6 are respectively arranged on the upper and lower parts of the port 7. The storage racks are used as racks 2 and two temporary storage racks are prepared, and when another commodity is stored in a certain rack 2 in which a commodity taken out from another rack 2 is to be stored, the commodity taken out from the rack 2 is temporarily stored. Consequently, the occurrence of error can be prevented at the time of storing commodities an the load on a worker executing storing work can be reduced.
